Client 2: Tameka I coached her to live in closer alignment with her faith to live more fully.
By saying “no” to non-essential activities, T.H. freed her up about 10-12 hours/ week which she now spends prioritizing herself! What does she do? Journal, spend more time with God, and explore new opportunities. And she’s even planning to move halfway across the country, with her family’s support (which for her is a prayer answered!). Here’s what T.H. had to say about working with me after 2.5 months:
“It’s a mental battle as well. You know, like accepting the growth, accepting change. Accepting the friends that come and go. Accepting what God is doing and how he’s doing it and just being being open to whatever capacity or whatever way he does it.
“I love everything that you say. I love how you reiterate scripture. I love how you tied in everything from our discussion yesterday and the previous discussions that we’ve had. Thank you so much! I thank you for being my cheerleader for real because I’m telling you, I don’t think I’m doing enough. I think, “I’m behind! Am I making the wrong choice? Does this even make sense? What are they thinking? Oh, I shouldn’t be doing this.”
I thank you so much for confirmation! For not saying “First of all, you’re crazy. You’re doing too much.” You’re just giving me confirmation and I feel it in my soul. You know the things that I feel like God is speaking to me and saying to me, and it’s like Is that confirmation?!
Client 3: Cookie didn’t pass the national nursing board exam (the NCLEX) on her first attempt.
I coached her for only 3 weeks and she exceeded her goals of thinking differently to pass the exam on her 2nd attempt. She began to say positive affirmations, studied differently by leveraging her strengths to develop test taking strategies, and extended herself grace (aka forgiveness) when she fell short of her own expectations because while limitless, sometimes we’re limited by our humanity.
Here’s what she told me after she took the exam:
“I’m proud of realizing that I am smart. I’m proud that I’ve gained a lot of confidence in general. I’m proud that I learned tricks and strategies. I’m proud that I’ve stopped negativity from overtaking my thoughts. Thank you for teaching me lifelong lessons! I’m so confident, I even started thinking it’s time to leave my job that I’ve been in for 8 years!”
I checked in with her about 4 months after she passed the NCLEX exam Here’s what she had to say (shared with permission):
And here’s my response to her in blue and her final response in gray:
Client 4: My Mocha Mate
In full transparency, this text wasn’t even from a paying client like the other messages shared here! We got to know each other because she worked where I bought my Nespresso coffee. She was a gem! We didn’t talk for long, but we did chat for long enough for us to exchange numbers and for her to begin taking more care of herself and living intentionally again after grieving the loss of a close relative. Less than 4 months later, sis done went and got herself a 6 pack again! Can I get a woopty woop somebody?!
