Love Is Everything
Love is more than just a word. It’s a movement, a way of life. Love is radical. Love is transformative. Love is life-changing and earth-moving. Love is everything. As 1 Corinthians 13:2 reminds us:
If we lack love, we have nothing.
God is love. A love unending, great, pure, and true. To love God is to love myself. And to love myself to love others. There’s something magical that happens in love. That’s why despite all of our “failed attempts” at love, we still seek it and yearn for it. Because we all know, in our core, that without love, we are nothing.
These words about falling in love, shared by my spiritual director, speak to the power of aligning our hearts with what truly matters.
Fall in Love
Nothing is more practical than
finding God, than
falling in Love
in a quite absolute, final way.
What you are in love with,
what seizes your imagination,
will affect everything.
It will decide
what will get you out of bed in the morning,
what you do with your evenings,
how you spend your weekends,
what you read,
whom you know,
what breaks your heart,
and what amazes you with joy and gratitude.
Fall in Love,
stay in love,
and it will decide everything.
