My Written Prayer to God
Oh God, I thank You!
Thank You that I write so I may remember. Thank You that in reviewing my writing from this weekend, I see that while I may have forgotten some of my own requests, You didn’t! And thank You that they’re already fulfilled! No passive voice allowed. Thank You that You and I together have fulfilled them!
Thank You for new pens. A new bag. Something so small, but truly helps me know that You care about ALL of me! Each hair, each thought, each worry, each lingering question, each interstitial space!
Why worry when I can pray? Why worry when I can write? Why worry when I can safely forget because You– the God who knows, hears, and sees ALL — will and does remember?!
Thank You, God, for this freedom. For this liberation. For this knowing. For this understanding. Help me lean not on my own understanding, but on Yours, because it is PERFECT, pleasing, good, holy. It is everything I need before I need it. It’s answered prayers that haven’t yet been spoken. It is in DUE time, not in my insatiable, imperfect timing.
Thank You, God, for all the beautiful souls on this weekend’s silent retreat. Thank You that we go out, return to home, work, and families with more of You and less of ourselves.
What’s Your good will and pleasure for me today?
God’s Response to Me
My dear sweet child!
Sit. Rest. Be still. The Great Silence I gifted you and that you gave yourself at the retreat isn’t only when at Dayspring. No, My love, it’s ALWAYS available to you, because I am always with you and available to you.
Create space for Me, and I will fill it. I will honor your obedience with Love, more Love, greater Love, My divine Love! As you said this morning, you were “made by love, out of love, for love, to love and be loved”!
Let Me love you. Come to stillness after this two way prayer meeting, and let Me fill you with the Love—My Love!—you need, hope for, and desire. There is no greater love than this. For I am love, and all love flows from Me and comes from Me. I am love, and you are well loved.
When I listen, God speaks to and fills my interstitial spaces.
When I speak, God hears my whole heart.
This is the beauty, art, science, and law that is prayer. Selah. And so it ALREADY is!
Three Way Prayer
Three-way prayer is an intimate conversation between you, God, and another person, where you each listen, reflect, and respond to His voice together. It’s a sacred space where God’s love, wisdom, and truth flow freely, filling the interstitial spaces between you, bringing clarity, connection, and divine revelation.
Reflection 1:
Oh God, another day came to me about myself—write to remember, see your dreams fulfilled. A pen reminds me I have power. Don’t be passive. Give yourself credit. Freedom through the pen—freedom of thought, action, speech, power, glory, praise, worship.
Silence is golden. Hear me, God. Whisper in the silence with a great silence within. John in cavity, void, fear versus love, control versus surrender. Calmness at depth, a soothing balm. Love, a four-letter word dissected, and it isn’t there—air, gossamer wings. Listen, speak, call, respond. Selah. As it was, so it is, forever and ever. Amen.
Reflection 2:
Thank You, oh God. Writing it helps me remember. Forgetting my own requests, forgetting my own awareness, disregarding my own needs and safety—this is the record of my safety and security. Thank You for a reminder of my record, my acknowledgment of You here, solid proof of the ethereal, material, physical creation of the evidence and proof of my sweet, tender, emotional parts.
Silent Retreat, untethering your anchored thoughts well below the surface of choppy water. Unanchor to fully float, such a breeze. Feel the wind on your face, the warmth of the love of the light from the Sun filling all of my tiniest spaces—warmth, silence, presence, here, now, holding me close to the source of good and right renewal.
This post is part of a five-part series that captures one of the most profound spiritual encounters of my life—a liminal moment where I came to understand, with unshakable certainty, that prayer is not just words but a living, breathing reality. Through these experiences, God revealed His presence in ways I could not ignore, guiding, protecting, and transforming me in real-time. Each post in this series reflects a deepening of faith, trust, and divine revelation.
