Flowing In Love: Trusting God To Lead Your Steps

As we step into a new year, I’m reminded of the beauty of trusting God to guide every step as S/He transforms my fear into love. This two-way prayer reflects choosing love over fear and choosing to flow in God’s limitless grace. My hope is that it inspires your heart and your reflections as we walk into all God has planned for us this year. And oh baby, did I flow while in Cancun! More on that in the next post!

Two Way Prayer

God. My good, holy, limitless God,
I thank you for new ways of doing and being. Thank You for new ideas, new insights, new chances. Thank You for opportunities. Thank You that we– no, I!– fail my way to success.

Thank You that this “failure” in typing my two way prayer stright into my blog teaches me about myself, reintroduces me to parts of myself I’d forgotten.

And thank You that it’s fine. I’m fine. It’s actually and truly aaaaaall fine!

This morning I was reminded to let love lead, not fear.

Which is how and why tomorrow I travel to Cancun. With two friends– one from high school, one from work.

My fear would have said “don’t go”! It’s been too long since you’ve seen your friend from high school in person.” But love says “you loved her then, and you love her still, so go!”

My fear would have said “don’t travel with your coworker! It’s too close, too intimate.” But love says “let it flow.”

And so tomorrow, I flow. I face my money fears and I go, trusting and knowing full well that all I need, I already have. And all I don’t have, I perhaps don’t actually need.

God’s Response to Me

My dear, sweet, well loved child,
You, My dear were created in love, by love, for love, to love!

Your life is unfolding. Allow it to unfold with ease and grace. Like a flower in bloom, so too, are you!

So bloom, My child. Continue to reach towards the sun. Let the water caress you, and the sun bathe you.

You are beautiful. Not because of who you are, but because of who I AM in you.

You are beautiful because of the love that flows deep within you, deeper than the blood in your veins. Deeper than the DNA in your cells.

You, My child, are love.

So love. Love. And let yourself be loved, too. I, Your Abba Father and Divine Holy Mother love you. Love the world. Explore what I created just for you! Go. Be. Do See. Wait. Breathe. Move. This, My child, is all love, too!

God is always speaking. When I still to listen, God speaks directly to me and through me. When I obey, I meet God’s best for me! This is the power, promise, and purpose of prayer. So it is. It is already well. It is already done! Selah– sacred pause. Amen!

Three Way Prayers aka Reflections on My Above Prayer

Reflection One
You’re fine. Actually, fine! It’s life. It’s being alive. You’re going to Cancun. Not much time for surface level friendships. Small niceties mean nothing. Get Spanish training. Let it occupy your time. You can start exercising today because you stopped for some time. Don’t just sleep. Move! Don’t fall and stay down. Pick yourself up! That’s how we do things. It’s not a chore. Time off is fun! Pray when you wake up, when you’re out. Pray many times a day. Before, during and after eating. Don’t indulge in the gluttony of vacation. Enhance your prayer, make it meaningful. I’m with you. Reach out. I’ll come across the universe for you.

Limitless. Welcomed failure is success. Drop the ego and fly. Coworker concerns is caca. Love love love. Beatles song– All material fades. I provide, do what’s next.

My Reflections on Others’ Prayers

Reflection One
Help me God, I’m lost. There’s clutter from the distraction. Help me clear my mind and my heart. Am I going away or running away? I don’t have the patience listen. Will I have the patience to do Your will? Don’t fear, My child. Guard your eyes and your heart. Surender what you can control, and what you can’t! Do what you humbly can and I’ll do the rest. Thoughts haunt you because you stopped meditating. Return to it. Return to Me.

Reflection Two
Truth without action is useless. Joseph’s brothers sold him into slavery, returning home knowing it was God who did it. I don’t have it so bad! Thank You God that I know nothing bad happens to me, You make it all happen for me! May I please keep facing reality. May I please keep moving my body. This beautiful temple is mine to love, adore, and adorn.
