When You Forget What Love Just Taught You

Why You Keep Missing Divine Timing (And How To Stop)

It’s funny, isn’t it?

Not haha funny. But how dang quickly we forget! And I just knows it can’t be me alone!

It’s 2:32 pm. Just this morning—not long ago at 11 am—I wrote my dream.

(Well, first I woke up not remembering the dream and then the divine lessons in the dream were so big and clear after love helped me remember.) It wasn’t until after I meditated that I remembered my dream. Be still and know that I am love, amirite?!

God, show me when to pull back—when to RETAIN my energy. From who right now should I reclaim my energy? Is it N? Yes. Surely. I stay on the phone past my own point of comfort. Help me reclaim, oh God. Her time isn’t mine and vice versa.

my 2/2/26 journal entry

Fast forward 2 hours. My dear, dope, beautiful sis texts me asking if I can help her friend. I give an immediate yes. So quick even I got whiplash!

I didn’t pause. I didn’t stop to ask myself anything.

What do I need? What can I give? How much time can I give? What does my to love list (testing this out, like a to do but rooted in deep love and therefore commitment) say I have time to offer her?

For a moment, I took it back. QUICKLY. Just as soon as I gave it, I took it back.

When You Forget What Love Just Taught You

But then I reread the text about who she is and what she needs and does. Oh sis is about to hook me up with a job and she don’t even know it yet! 🤭

The help her friend needed? I misread it. I was moving so quickly I read it correctly then misinterpreted.

SLOOOW DOOOWN, JOVAL!

When Saying Yes Too Quickly Leads To a Divine Connection

The job her friend has? I want it.

It’s one I used to do and want to do again—writing standardized test questions for nurses. Sign. Me. Up! She’s doing the job and isn’t a nurse and needs help from a nurse. I did the job before I was a nurse. Hi, it’s me—former item test writer and developer and now with nursing experience!

So I turned that yes from a no into a yes again in minutes because what do you mean she does the same job I can do remotely and have prayed about and for? It’s everything I want!

This could seem like a lot of nothing to you.

But to me? To me, I know this is God in action.

Today has been chock full of synchronicities! And this is one of them.

It’s no different. It’s actually more of the same. More love. More God!

Love speaks to me in my dreams. Sometimes, I don’t remember. But love always returns to me what I need. Love always reminds me. Maybe not when or how I want.

But definitely when I need. (NTS: write about that because what I want isn’t what I need and when I say I’ve learned some haaardt lessons because of the harm I caused myself when I ignored my need to get my want?! 😮‍💨😰🥵)

We spoke. A scheduled 15 minute call turned over 40 minutes and ended at 4:44. (Love speaks to me through numbers, too.)

And did I mention my good sis who’s about to get me a job is also from my mother’s motherland? Mhm! I KNOW!

I can’t write this myself.

God is an artist.

And spiritualists are artists, too.

And as creative as I am, I couldn’t have dreamt this up.

Know This

And so to you, my lovely reader, I hope you leave with this knowing:

The universe—love itself!—really is conspiring in ways that exceed your wildest everything. Let it! Don’t limit love. Don’t limit opportunities. Let be what is. Let come what may. Call the good forth. Call the beautiful and patient and kind. Call love to surround you and invade you. May love overwhelm you so that even the most simple, most mundane becomes profound.

A Gratitude Prayer to Love

Love, thank you for what was, what is, and what will be.

Love, thank you for what wasn’t, what isn’t, and what won’t be.

Thank you, love, that time isn’t linear and neither is life.

And so it is. It is written. It is spoken. And it is done.

As within, so without.

As above, so below.

As in heaven, and on earth.

Ashe. Ameen. Amen.
